Bengaluru areas without power today after BESCOM feeder fault
Parts of Bengaluru are without power today after a BESCOM feeder fault, with separate scheduled maintenance outages also under way elsewhere.
Parts of Bengaluru are without power today after the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company reported a fault in one of its feeder lines.
Kodichikanahalli faces an outage between 6:30 am and 10 am, while Mangamanapalya and Devarachikkanahalli are affected from 6 am to 10 am.
The fault has been traced to the 66/11KV HSR MUSS F2 feeder, which tripped and requires restoration before power can be restored.
Alongside this, BESCOM has scheduled separate maintenance outages today in Konappana Agrahara and Electronic City, from 6 am to 10 am.
A further scheduled outage falls under the Puravankara Substation jurisdiction, covering Halehalli, Maragondanahalli, Kalkere Road, Byrathi Village, Kanakashree Layout and Atma Vidya Nagar.
Residents in the affected areas have been advised to charge essential devices in advance and adjust their plans around the outage timings.
BESCOM has asked residents to keep track of its official notices, noting that the HSR feeder fault is an unplanned technical issue rather than scheduled upkeep.
Residents in Bengaluru have increasingly relied on the BESCOM Mithra mobile application and the utility’s official social media handles to track outage schedules and restoration updates in real time.
Power disruptions of this kind are a recurring feature of Bengaluru’s monsoon and maintenance seasons, with the utility periodically publishing area-wise schedules to help residents plan around expected outages.
BESCOM supplies electricity across Bengaluru and several surrounding districts, and routinely carries out both planned maintenance outages and unplanned fault repairs, with residents typically notified through the utility’s website, mobile app and local announcements.
The HSR MUSS feeder in question forms part of the network serving the HSR Layout area and neighbouring localities, and faults on such feeders can affect multiple connected substations simultaneously, as has been the case with today’s disruption.
Electronic City, one of the areas affected by today’s separate scheduled maintenance, is home to a large concentration of IT and business parks, meaning outages there can have a wider impact on office operations than in purely residential localities.
