Spider-Man: Brand New Day India collection tops Rs 100 crore net in 2 days
Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s India net collection has topped Rs 100 crore in two days, even as Day 2 business dropped 18.6% from the opening day.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s India collection has topped the Rs 100 crore net mark in just two days of release, trade tracker Sacnilk reported. The film, led by Tom Holland and directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, was released by Sony Pictures in Indian cinemas on Thursday, July 30, 2026, ahead of its global release on July 31.
The film opened to Rs 60.60 crore net on day one, with a gross of Rs 71.51 crore, numbers that trade watchers ranked among the year’s best Hollywood openings in India.
Business eased on the second day to Rs 49.35 crore net, an 18.6% fall from opening day, as the film played across 16,902 shows with 64.8% occupancy nationwide.
Combined, the two days add up to a net total of Rs 109.95 crore, pushing the film past the Rs 100 crore mark well ahead of the close of its opening weekend.
The release covers English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions in Indian cinemas, extending its footprint into single screens as well as multiplexes.
Trade trackers say the coming weekend will show whether the film can hold its audience, a key indicator for how long its theatrical run in India will last.
The film also stars Zendaya and Sadie Sink reprising their roles alongside Tom Holland, with the returning cast a key draw for opening-weekend audiences in India.
Trade analysts note that Thursday releases have become common practice for major Hollywood titles in India, allowing an extra day of collections before the traditional Friday-to-Sunday opening weekend window.
Multiplex chains reported houseful shows for evening and night slots in metro cities including Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru through the first two days of release.
The film rounds out Tom Holland’s trilogy of solo Spider-Man features made in collaboration between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.

Yash’s Toxic drops English trailer as worldwide release nears on Aug 26
Yash’s action thriller Toxic has released its English-language trailer ahead of its August 26 worldwide release, with the film set in a fictionalised Goa during the final years of Portuguese colonial rule.
Yash’s Toxic has dropped its English-language trailer as the film’s worldwide release on August 26 draws closer.
The action thriller, directed by Geetu Mohandas, is set in a fictionalised Goa during the final years of Portuguese colonial rule, centring on power, betrayal and personal consequence.
Yash takes on a dual role in the film as Raya and Ticket, with the plot following characters navigating the city’s underworld through violence and strategic manipulation.
The trailer has been met with an enthusiastic response internationally, with viewers praising the natural English dialogue and the film’s ambitious production scale.
Toxic will release worldwide on August 26 across Kannada, Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam in a coordinated multi-language rollout.
Billed as ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups,’ it is shaping up to be one of the biggest Kannada-language releases of the year.
North American distribution rights for the film have been secured by Prime Media Studios, with English and Kannada versions both set to screen in theatres there.
Kiara Advani joined the film’s cast in 2024 as the female lead, marking her Kannada-language debut, while Nayanthara signed on for a key role the following year.
Yash is best known internationally for the KGF franchise, which established him as one of Indian cinema’s biggest crossover stars ahead of Toxic’s global rollout.
The film’s title has been styled as ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups,’ a framing the makers say reflects the story’s darker, more adult take on a rise-and-fall narrative.
Toxic is directed by Geetu Mohandas, with Yash serving as co-writer and producer through his banner Monster Mind Creations.
The film’s action sequences were designed by Hollywood stunt coordinator J.J. Perry, known for his work on the John Wick and Fast & Furious franchises.
Toxic was shot simultaneously in English and Kannada rather than dubbed afterward, a choice the makers say gives the dialogue a more natural feel in both versions.

Kareena Kapoor Khan wishes Saif Ali Khan on his 56th birthday with unseen photos
Kareena Kapoor Khan marked Saif Ali Khan’s 56th birthday with a heartfelt social media post sharing unseen pictures, calling him her ‘forever ride or die’.
Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan marked husband Saif Ali Khan’s 56th birthday with a heartfelt social media post featuring a set of previously unseen pictures of the couple.
In her caption, Kareena described Saif as her ‘forever ride or die,’ a message that quickly drew a wave of comments and likes from fans and fellow Bollywood celebrities.
The couple, who have been married since 2012, frequently share glimpses of their personal life on social media, though both are known to keep much of their day-to-day life away from the public eye.
Saif Ali Khan, who began his acting career in the early 1990s, has built a career spanning romantic comedies, action films and more recently darker, character-driven roles.
Fans and industry colleagues also took to social media to wish the actor on his birthday, with several posting throwback photographs and clips from his earlier films.
Kareena remains active in the industry, balancing acting projects with a visible presence on social media platforms, where she regularly shares updates from her personal and professional life.
Saif and Kareena, who share two sons together, are frequently photographed together at Mumbai film industry events and public functions.
Birthday tributes from star spouses have historically drawn heavy engagement on social media in the Indian film industry, with such posts often generating widespread reshares and comments from fans.
The pictures shared by Kareena were drawn from earlier moments in their relationship, adding a nostalgic element to the tribute that resonated with the couple’s long-time followers.
Saif Ali Khan, born into the Pataudi royal family, is the son of former Indian cricket captain Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and actor Sharmila Tagore, and made his acting debut in 1992.
Over a career spanning more than three decades, Saif has won a National Film Award and multiple Filmfare Awards, and remains one of Bollywood’s most recognisable leading men across generations of releases.

Awarapan 2 nears Rs 114 crore net as it dominates August box office
Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 has collected close to Rs 114 crore net in India over eight days, emerging as the biggest contributor to Independence Day 2026’s box office.
Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 has collected close to Rs 114 crore net in India over its first eight days, with a total collection including overseas business of around Rs 154 crore.
The film showed a strong hold on day eight, collecting an estimated Rs 5 to 5.5 crore net, continuing its steady run through its second week in theatres.
Awarapan 2 emerged as the biggest contributor to the Independence Day 2026 holiday weekend at the box office, outperforming other releases from the same period.
In contrast, Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947 has struggled at the box office, collecting only around Rs 1.2 crore net on its seventh day.
Trade estimates suggest total collections across roughly 44 films released in India in August 2026 stand at around Rs 382 crore, with Awarapan 2 accounting for a significant share of that figure.
The film’s consistent day-on-day hold, rather than a front-loaded opening followed by a sharp decline, has been cited by trade analysts as the key factor behind its extended theatrical run.
Awarapan 2, directed as a sequel to the 2007 cult film, has drawn comparisons to its predecessor’s slow-burn box office trajectory, with word-of-mouth playing a significant role in sustaining ticket sales into the second week.
Industry trackers noted that the film’s performance stands out in a month otherwise marked by muted openings, with several other August releases failing to sustain momentum beyond their first weekend.
Distributors said Awarapan 2’s combination of urban multiplex demand and steady single-screen collections in smaller markets has helped it maintain a broader box office footprint than some of its competitors this month.
The film’s music, composed by Mithoon, has also contributed to its sustained visibility, with the lead track continuing to perform well on streaming platforms even as the film moves into its third week of release.
