Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 has crossed Rs 136.25 crore net in India after ten days at the box office.

The film added Rs 8.75 crore on day ten, its second Sunday in theatres, playing across 13,632 shows nationwide.

That marked a 6.1% rise over the previous day’s collection, as the second-weekend numbers held up better than the film’s slower midweek run.

Day nine had brought in Rs 8.25 crore, a 43.5% jump over day eight’s Rs 5.75 crore, taking the nine-day domestic total to Rs 127.50 crore before the latest update.

The film opened to Rs 22 crore on day one and posted its best single-day figure of Rs 33.75 crore on day two, before collections eased through the first week.

Directed as a sequel to the 2007 original, Awarapan 2 has now settled into a steady second-weekend run as it heads into its third week of release.

Trade analysts have pointed to a stronger-than-average second-weekend hold, with day ten collections improving over both day eight and day nine.

Box office figures for recent Bollywood releases are compiled daily from national distributor and exhibitor tracking data by trade portals such as Sacnilk.

The original Awarapan, released in 2007, was directed by Mohit Suri and is remembered as one of the darker psychological thrillers of Emraan Hashmi’s early career.

Actor Govinda has issued a public notice threatening a possible Rs 100 crore lawsuit against those spreading false information about his marriage.

The notice warns media organisations, digital platforms and content creators against creating or sharing content that is false, defamatory, fabricated or unverified about him or his family.

It specifically flags the circulation of deepfakes and other AI-generated synthetic content, stating that no permission has been granted to use Govinda’s voice, photographs or likeness through such technologies.

The notice states that those found responsible could face court orders involving bank accounts, restrictions on buying or selling property, and passport seizure.

It follows rumours of a court marriage and marital discord involving Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja that circulated on social media in recent days.

Yash’s upcoming film Toxic has hit Rs 35 crore in worldwide advance bookings, four days ahead of its release on August 26.

The strong pre-sales have made Toxic the highest-grossing Kannada film of 2026 through advance bookings alone, surpassing KD – The Devil’s final closing collection of Rs 33.01 crore.

In India, the film has crossed Rs 18.26 crore gross from advance bookings, with roughly 4.5 lakh tickets sold across the country so far.

The booking pace has been especially strong in the Hindi market, where the film has sold more than 60,000 tickets within the first 24 hours, surpassing early bookings for Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.

Trade analysts, who had earlier projected a Rs 20 crore net opening in Hindi, now expect the film to significantly exceed that mark based on current booking momentum.

Toxic marks Yash’s first film since KGF: Chapter 2 nearly four years ago, and releases worldwide on August 26 across Kannada, Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

Toxic is directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced through KVN Productions and Yash’s own banner, Monster Mind Creations.

The film has received an ‘A’ certificate from Indian censors and stars Yash in a dual role alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Huma Qureshi.

In India alone, Toxic has crossed Rs 18.26 crore gross from advance bookings, with around 4.5 lakh tickets sold so far.

Karnataka has led ticket sales by a wide margin, contributing the bulk of the advance booking revenue ahead of the film’s release.

Toxic releases worldwide on August 26 across Kannada, Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam, marking Yash’s first film since KGF: Chapter 2 nearly four years ago.

The film’s Hindi advance booking alone has crossed 60,000 tickets within the first 24 hours, with trade watchers projecting an opening well beyond the initially estimated Rs 20 crore net range.
