Monica Menon, the Captain of the Indian Tennis Team for 30+ lead her team to Portugal for ITF  World Tennis Masters Tour Championship 2024, held at Lisbon and Oeiras from 4th August to 9th.

 In the history of ITF Tennis Masters tour of World Championship- Indian women tennis team has first time achieved the distinction of being eight in the world tennis ranking and moreover, the India women tennis team competed and had neck to neck ties which few they could win ties and few were too close.  Monica Menon, the Captain of the Indian team was also given a small token of appreciation from few countries for playing well.

The other fellow players of the contingent have applauded this historic win and also one of the  women team mates- Nikunj Kamal, Captain of the 35+ Women Indian  Tennis team commented, “Monica and her team played wow tennis , really inspiring for Indian women.Thank you Monica for setting a benchmark for us .You have really made us proud while playing there.”.

It was a tough competition  undoubtedly as few of them were also part of ATP and WTA tennis circuit  and more than thirty-four countries participated. India was represented by Monica Menon, the Captain, Meenu Shukla, Jyoti and Sanjana Rawal.  The team returned to India last night.

Ameer Vayalar, a celebrated taekwondo coach from Vayalar, Alappuzha, has announced transformative updates to his Electronic Scoring System (ESS), set to revolutionize taekwondo competitions on a global scale. Known for his exceptional skills as an international player and coach, Ameer has enhanced his system’s functionality by incorporating online capabilities and advanced training modes for coaches.

Previously limited to offline use, the ESS now features an online version, enabling real-time scoring and match monitoring from any location worldwide. This crucial upgrade significantly improves the accessibility and effectiveness of taekwondo scoring technology.

“In our latest update, we’ve integrated online features that enable coaches and officials to oversee matches remotely and receive live scoring updates,” stated Ameer Vayalar. “Additionally, we’ve enhanced the training mode within the software, providing coaches with comprehensive tools to refine athletes’ performances.”

The ESS mobile applications and computer software have completed their final testing phases. Selected taekwondo coaches across India will evaluate the system by the end of this month. This testing phase aims to gather feedback and ensure the system’s seamless integration into various levels of taekwondo competition.
